History IS Here Talks 2019

Our new season of history talks begin on the 18th October.

We will be presenting a series of local history talks from October 2019 to April 2020.

Our first talks are about two different Victorian topics!

Friday 18th October – Aspects of Victorian Walkley.

Walkley Historians will present some of their results, fascinating stories and larger-than-life characters they have discovered during their research into the Victorian origins of Walkley.
Entry is free but we welcome a donation to cover the cost of venue hire. Refreshments are available.

Friday 15th November – Wardsend: A Victorian cemetery in the edgelands

Hugh Waterhouse will introduce one of Sheffield’s Victorian public cemeteries.

Both talks are at St Mary’s Community Hall, South Rd, Walkley and start at 7pm. Entry is free but we welcome a donation for venue hire. Refreshments are available.

We will announce the 2020 talks soon, which will all be held in Walkley Community Centre.
