Walkley Reform Club -on this day 100 years ago – 5th January 1915

As the New Year opens, with no end of the War in sight, the Club steadfastly continues normal business and welcomes new members.   Club members serving in the Forces have sent ‘thank you’ letters for their Christmas parcels.

[5 January 1915]
Minutes of General Committee held Jan 5 15 Mr Arthur Wragg presiding
That the minutes of the previous meeting be passed as a true record
That the accounts for the month be paid
That the nominations for the month be accepted as members of the club
That the acknowledgements from our soldier members for the Xmas parcels be recorded in the minutes
That the entrance fees of the undefeated member of the former tournament stand for the tourney to be arranged
That the surplus cues be placed in the Billiard room
With a vote of thanks to the chairman the meeting closed
[Signed] J T Madeley Feby 3rd 1915
