Raymond Swift

Raymond Swift would like to hear from people who knew him or his sister from the time they lived in Walkley.

Raymond was born on Elton Street in 1936. He had a sister called Doreen and went to Burgoyne Road School from 1941 to 1950. He worked at the Grand Hotel as a page boy when he left school, meeting many famous people.

“Elton Street was great as a kid, a bit like Coronation Street, a shop at each end where the women used to gossip.”
