First World War Windows Rededication Ceremony

Walkley Community Centre’s First World War Memorial windows have been restored. They were unveiled as part of a rededication ceremony on Sunday 3rd August. This was the culmination of 18 months of research and work on the windows and the 9 members of Walkley Reform Club commemorated in them.

Relatives of the 9 men, Walkley Historians, the Centre’s management team, the Lord Mayor of Sheffield and the High Sheriff of South Yorkshire gathered to see the windows, hear early 20th century folk songs and music, listen to readings, and see the Nine Men, Nine Lives, One Great War exhibition. There was a public viewing of the windows and exhibition following the ceremony.

This is a video of the main part of the ceremony.
