Walkley Reform Club – on this day 100 years ago – 12th August 1914

Britain has been at war for eight days, but billiard tables, accounts, the Floral Society’s annual show and an open night are on the minds of Walkley Reform Club’s committee.

Minutes of General Committee Meeting held August 12.14 Mr David Smith presiding

That the minutes of the July meeting be passed as read

That the accounts as presented for the month be paid

That the nominations for the month be accepted as members of the club

That the question of cost of alteration of No 1 Billiard table be brought before the next Committee

That the use of the Recreation room be granted to the Floral Society for their Annual Show on Sept 5 14

That the use of Ruskin Hall be allowed for an open night on Wednes August 26, Messrs Robertson,Howarth, Honeyball & Ashton to act as Committee for arranging same

A vote of thanks to the Chairman brought the meeting to a close
