Walkley Reform Club – on this day 100 years ago – 10th June 1914

In our third extract from Walkley Reform Club’s minutes, bowls and billiards are the topics of the day.

[10 June 1914]

Minutes of General Committee held June 10th 1914 Mr David Smith in the chair

That the minutes of the previous meeting be passed as read

That the nominations as presented be accepted

That the accounts as presented be paid

That the House Committee’s recommendations for a Finance Committee of five members be accepted

That the celebration originally arranged for Whit Tuesday take place on June 22nd Mr D Smith to act as secretary for Committee previously appointed

That the Bowling Committee be allowed discretion in their arrangements for a Tournament

That the entrance fee be made up to 20/- for the Championship Billiard Cup.

That Messrs Smith, Robertson, Foers, Ashton & Howarth be a Committee for choosing of position for placing of Billiard Cub

That a room be granted to Mr Heeley for a Viola on the 20th of June

With a vote of thanks to the Chairman the meeting closed
