1914 in Yorkshire Programme

1914 programme

Download the 1914 in Yorkshire programme of events being organised by museums and other cultural organisations to commemorate the start of the First World War one hundred years ago.

Walkley Community Centre via the Walkley Historians is one of 88 partners in Yorkshire working with the Imperial War Museum to organise events and exhibitions. Turn to pages 70 and 72 to see what we have planned in June and August as our contribution to this national act of remembrance and reinterpretation.

Details of events across the county are interspersed with pocket histories of the war, from Kitchener’s Army to dissenting voices.

Paper copies of the booklet will be available from participating museums and tourism leaflet racks, such as the one at Sheffield Railway Station.
