Searching for Photos

Scholey's will

Inside Scholey’s, Burgoyne Rd

Do you have old photographs of Walkley?

We are looking for photos which show Walkley’s houses, streets, shops, pubs, churches, chapels, the library, etc to add to the Walkley History Archive. We would like to include any photos which show the life and times of Walkley in the past.

We are creating a dedicated Walkley online historic image library on Flickr which we will link to the Walkley Digital Memory Map. This will become the definitive visual history of Walkley through the years.

We can accept scanned photos as jpgs or tiffs, or can meet to scan photographs. All photographs are credited with the name of the donor. With each photograph we like to include the name of the location and an approximate date so that time and place can be identified by people looking at the photos.

If you have any photographs you would like to share on the photo library please contact us via this website or call Walkley Community Centre on 0114 251 7171.
