Walkley Historians

Our next meeting, after a summer break, is Tuesday 24th September, 7pm at St Mary’s Community Hall, South Rd, Walkley. We then have meetings on the fourth Tuesday in the month October  – November, same time, same place.

Anyone is welcome who is interested in getting involved in historic research on the project. We’re mostly focusing on Walkley in 1908/09, the founding of the Walkley Reform Club in 1909, First World War soldiers of Walkley Reform Club, Walkley life 1950s – 1980s and the slum clearance, campaign and improvements scheme of the 1960s-70s.
