Walkley Oral History Online

Clips from oral history interviews are going online.

We are using the free audio sharing service called AudioBoo, founded by two ex-BBC radio engineers. You can visit Walkley Oral History Online at http://audioboo.fm/users/1354533/playlists.

We will add more clips over the coming months and years.

We will also publish pages on this website based around these clips along with transcripts of the excerpts and photos of the subjects being discussed. Each page has two audio players. The top one is the AudioBoo player for listening on PCs, Macs, laptops and some mobiles. The smaller audio player below is for listening on iPhones, iPads and iPod touches.

The first pages we’ve published are about Kelvin Flats, Scholey’s and South Road shops.

Look out soon for news of the Walkley Memory Map which will combine text, photos and oral history clips on a clickable Google map.
